Precision Cleaning & Protection

Field Guide

How To Use — Step-by-Step

Operational guidance for field personnel, logistics operators, and armourers responsible for the handling, use, and maintenance of the Advanced Cleaning Kit for Arms.

01
Make Weapon Safe

Before beginning any cleaning, make the weapon safe: remove magazine, clear chamber, apply safety, confirm visually and tactilely that weapon is unloaded. Never commence cleaning a loaded weapon.

02
Field Strip the Weapon

Field strip to appropriate maintenance level per weapon technical manual — typically removing bolt carrier group, charging handle, and barrel. Lay components on a clean surface.

03
Dry Brush the Bore

Assemble cleaning rod to appropriate length. Attach calibre-specific bore brush. Pass through bore from chamber to muzzle in smooth full-length strokes — minimum 10 passes.

04
Patch the Bore

Remove bore brush and attach jag. Thread cotton patch. Pass through bore from chamber to muzzle. Repeat with clean patches until patches emerge clean. Inspect bore under light.

05
Clean Action and Chamber

Use nylon action brush with CLP to clean bolt face, extractor, ejector, and chamber. Use carbon scraper for stubborn deposits. Clean receiver interior with lightly oiled patch.

06
Lubricate and Reassemble

Apply controlled CLP to designated lubrication points per weapon technical manual. Do not over-lubricate. Reassemble per manual sequence. Perform function check drill.

Operational Use Cases

Deployed Across Operations

The Advanced Cleaning Kit for Arms is deployed across a wide range of operational and institutional contexts, serving armed forces, paramilitary, and OEM customers across India and internationally.

— Indian Army — Infantry
Infantry Section Post-Exercise Maintenance
Scenario: An infantry section requires post-exercise weapon cleaning for ten individual weapons following a 72-hour exercise with heavy fouling.
Outcome: Each soldier carries an individual cleaning kit. Section weapon cleaning completed at administrative halt — all weapons cleaned, lubricated, and function-checked within 30 minutes.
— CAPF / Police Armed Branch
Armoury Scheduled Maintenance
Scenario: A CAPF company armoury requires quarterly scheduled maintenance of all held weapons using standardised, regulation-compliant cleaning equipment.
Outcome: Cleaning kits provide the complete tool set for armourer-conducted quarterly maintenance — bore cleaning, action maintenance, lubrication, and inspection record completion for all weapons in inventory.
— Special Forces / Commando Units
Special Forces Operational Deployment
Scenario: A special forces team deploying on an extended operation requires individual weapon maintenance capability without access to armoury facilities.
Outcome: Individual cleaning kits issued as mission equipment. Compact enough for personal kit integration, providing complete maintenance capability throughout the deployment duration.
— Military Training Institute / NDA
Military Training Establishment
Scenario: A military training establishment requires standardised weapon cleaning kits for issue to trainees during recruit and officer training courses.
Outcome: Cleaning kits issued to all trainees at commencement of weapons handling training — providing tools for cleaning drills and building correct maintenance habits from the start of service.
Real-World Application

Operational Example

— Field Example

POST-EXERCISE WEAPON MAINTENANCE: An infantry platoon completes a 5-day field exercise during the monsoon season. Weapons have fired approximately 200 rounds each and have been exposed to mud, water, and high humidity. At the administrative halt, each soldier deploys their individual cleaning kit. Using brass bore brushes, modular cleaning rod, and cotton patches, each soldier clears carbon and copper fouling from the bore. Nylon action brushes and CLP clear the bolt face, chamber, and receiver. A final oiled patch is run through the bore. Weapons are reassembled and function-checked. All weapons pass the function check. The platoon is back at operational readiness within 25 minutes. This is the direct operational value of having the right tools in the right hands at the right moment.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from procurement officers, logistics managers, and technical staff regarding the Advanced Cleaning Kit for Arms.

Which weapon patterns is the cleaning kit compatible with?
Designed for standard Indian Army service weapons and NATO-standard small arms. Calibre-specific bore brushes included for most common service calibres. Contact technical team for specific weapon patterns.
Is the cleaning rod safe for chrome-lined bores?
Yes. Brass cleaning rod and brushes are compatible with chrome-lined bores. Brass is softer than steel bore coatings and will not damage chrome lining when used correctly.
Can the kit be used for crew-served weapons?
The standard kit is optimised for individual small arms. Custom cleaning kits for specific crew-served weapon platforms are available. Contact our technical team.
Is the oil bottle refillable with standard CLP?
Yes. Designed to be refillable with standard CLP lubricant as approved for the weapons being maintained. Follow weapon technical manual for approved lubricant specification.
