Product Overview

Engineering Excellence

The Carrier 6A is a precision-engineered carrier system built to solve one of the most operationally significant challenges in ammunition logistics: how to move the maximum amount of ammunition with the minimum number of people in the minimum amount of time.

Fabricated from heavy-gauge steel with reinforced corner gussets, precision structural cross-bracing, and MIG/TIG welded joints, the Carrier 6A is built to withstand vehicle-mounted transport over rough terrain, helicopter underslung load operations, forklift handling, and manual carry across varied field terrain.

Key Features & Benefits

Engineering Design Highlights

The engineering features that differentiate the Carrier 6A as a mission-ready defence component built for operational reliability across all environments.

Six-Box Simultaneous TransportOne lift moves 1,200 rounds of 7.62mm linked ammunition — six times the handling efficiency of individual box carry
Reinforced Structural Steel FrameHeavy-gauge steel with corner gussets and structural cross-bracing engineered for full six-box loaded weight under all terrain conditions
Box Retention Locking SystemPrevents box separation or movement during vehicle transport over rough and cross-country terrain — critical for tactical operations
NATO Vehicle Rack CompatibleSlots directly into standard military vehicle ammunition stowage racks — no adapter or vehicle modification required
Helicopter Cargo Net CompatibleStructurally designed for helicopter underslung load operations — rigged per aviation logistics procedures for air resupply
Forklift Handling IntegrationIntegrated forklift handling provisions for seamless depot operations with standard material handling equipment
70% Task Time ReductionDocumented reduction in resupply task completion time vs individual box carry — reducing personnel fatigue and tactical exposure
Stackable Empty StorageSpace-efficient when empty carriers are stored — compact depot footprint for return logistics management

Field Guide

How To Use — Step-by-Step

Operational guidance for field personnel, logistics operators, and armourers responsible for the handling, use, and maintenance of the Carrier 6A.

01
Inspect Carrier Before Loading

Inspect the carrier frame for structural damage, weld integrity, and handle function. Ensure box retention system is operational. Do not use a carrier with damaged structural welds or compromised handle.

02
Load Ammunition Boxes

Place six M2A1/H2A1 boxes into carrier in correct orientation — lids facing up, handles accessible. Engage box retention system to secure all six boxes. Verify all are correctly seated.

03
Deploy Carrying Handle

For manual carry, deploy folding handle fully and engage locking pin. Maintain correct lifting posture. Always use designated carrying handle — never lift by frame members.

04
Load onto Vehicle Rack

Place loaded carrier onto vehicle ammunition stowage rack in correct orientation. Secure using vehicle tie-down arrangements. Verify stability before vehicle movement.

05
Unload and Issue Ammunition

At delivery point, remove carrier from vehicle, place on level ground, disengage box retention system, and issue individual ammunition boxes to receiving personnel. Log in ammunition register.

06
Store Empty Carriers

Fold handle, stack empty carriers in designated storage area. Inspect periodically for corrosion and structural wear. Touch up powder coat on abraded surfaces.

Operational Use Cases

Deployed Across Operations

The Carrier 6A is deployed across a wide range of operational and institutional contexts, serving armed forces, paramilitary, and OEM customers across India and internationally.

— Indian Army — Infantry / Mechanised
Rapid Forward Ammunition Resupply
Scenario: A company forward ammunition party requires rapid delivery of 1,200 rounds of 7.62mm linked to a forward position during a tactical exercise.
Outcome: Six H2A1 boxes (1,200 rounds) loaded into a single Carrier 6A and carried by two personnel in a single lift — reducing six separate trips to two, completing the task 70% faster.
— Indian Air Force / Army Aviation
Helicopter Underslung Resupply
Scenario: A remote forward base requires ammunition resupply by helicopter where landing is not possible and underslung load delivery must be used.
Outcome: Carrier 6A units loaded with six M2A1 boxes rigged to helicopter cargo nets and delivered as underslung loads — concentrating payload into minimum lift units and reducing sortie requirements.
— Indian Army — Armoured Corps
Armoured Vehicle Stowage
Scenario: An armoured vehicle requires structured, secure ammunition stowage for secondary weapon ammunition that can be rapidly removed and replenished at forward ammunition points.
Outcome: Carrier 6A units slot into vehicle-mounted ammunition stowage racks, providing structured, secure holding of M2A1 boxes removable as a complete unit for rapid restocking.
— Infantry Battalion — B Echelon Logistics
Infantry Company Resupply
Scenario: An infantry company B Echelon ammunition party must deliver 2,400 rounds to three platoon positions simultaneously under time pressure.
Outcome: 12 H2A1 boxes loaded into two Carrier 6A units. Two logistics operators carry each carrier. Without Carrier 6A: 12 individual trips per operator. With: two trips. 70%+ time saving.
Real-World Application

Operational Example

— Field Example

INFANTRY COMPANY FORWARD RESUPPLY: During an operational exercise, an infantry company B Echelon ammunition party delivers 2,400 rounds of 7.62mm linked ammunition to three platoon positions. The ammunition is pre-loaded into 12 H2A1 boxes at the company ammunition point, loaded into two Carrier 6A units. Two logistics operators carry each Carrier 6A to the delivery points. Without Carrier 6A, this task requires 12 separate carry trips per operator. With Carrier 6A, it requires two trips. Task completion time is reduced by over 70%. All ammunition arrives with full condition integrity. The platoons are at operational readiness in a fraction of the time.
